Our Story
Founded in 1964 by Fred Ladwig Sr., Central Alberta Paint & Supplies (CAPS store in Red Deer) and Canadian Auto Paint Supply (CAPS store in Edmonton) have grown to become trusted suppliers of automotive paint, body shop supplies, and auto parts across Canada.
Today, under the leadership of Fred Ladwig Jr., with headquarters in Red Deer, Alberta, CAPS continues to provide high-quality products and exceptional service to body shops, automotive professionals, and DIY enthusiasts. Most of our customers are in Western Canada including British Columbia (BC), Alberta (AB), Saskatchewan (SK), and Manitoba (MB), but we also serve customers from Ontario (ON), Quebec (QC), Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island.

Our History
1964
Fred Ladwig Sr. founded Central Alberta Paint & Supplies in Red Deer and Canadian Auto Paint Supply in Edmonton.
1980s
Expanded product offerings to include a wider range of autobody parts and supplies.
1990s
Fred Ladwig Jr. took over leadership, continuing the family tradition of quality and service.
2000s
Expanded warehouse capacity to better serve growing customer base across Western Canada.
2010s
Added Ladwig's Automotive in Red Deer to provide mechanical auto parts to our customers.
2020s
Expanded online presence to better serve customers across all Canadian provinces.
Today
Operating three stores and three warehouses in Canada, with partner warehousing throughout the country to ensure product availability for all Canadian provinces except Northwest Territories, Yukon, and Nunavut.

We use Automotive Art's Explore Color tool to allow you to explore paint colors and choices. This tool is available online OR can be downloaded from our website and installed on your desktop. We also have an online Paints Finder tool to help you locate the paint or paint product you are looking for once you decide on color. You can filter by category and you can also use our description search.
Auto Body Parts & Supplies
Our online search tools will help you quickly find what you need from our large inventory of over 80,000 different products. For Parts, use our Part Finder, where you can filter by year/make/model and part category & sub-categories. Or use our description search and part/sku/oem number search.
